How do you fool 98 head unit?
How do you fool 98 head unit into thinking CD changer is present? I am trying to install an Ipod interface and CD changer must present. I don't have a CD changer. Radio won't go into CD mode without changer. Can head unit be fooled by jumping wires?
I do not have optical unit.

For the vintage Becker which was stock in your model you need to have Becker NA install an AUX-IN onto the circuit board of the radio. They can do a change out for the same price. (www.beckerautoradio.com)
I think it's probably cheaper to just replace the headunit with an aftermarket one if you don't mind the irridescent colors.![EEK!](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/eek.gif)
BTW, I upgraded to a newer model Becker (7882) and had no problem just attaching a cable to the changer connection on the back of the new radio.
