Newbie looking to buy 98-2000 E430
Newbie here, hoping to buy a E430 this spring. I am seeing some nice 98-00 models, 80k to 120k mileage, at prices that look good, $5500 -7500.
Any advice you can give? Will be selling town car,and hope to find the right one. I am very careful about maintenance, and will use this as a daily driver, except in snow.Thank you, C

There's a sticky at the top of the page with a thread on 'Common Issues' for the W210.
As always competent inspection is a good idea. Also, pick one with good written service history. There's a lot of W210's around so no need to gamble.

There is a recent thread on pretty much this exact topic - https://mbworld.org/forums/e-class-w...want-e430.html

Here's a thought; buy outside the snow belt areas if possible. Rust issues do exist with these cars. There are hundreds available. Start by looking at boards like autotrader.com or cars.com to start your search. Be definitive on the options you want. There are many choices available. Lastly make sure you inspect before purchase or have sale contingent upon final inspection before money changes hands. Do not be afraid to buy from a distance. I have purchased from California while living in Florida with proper planning and inspection. Check Better business bureau before buying from an independent unknown. Just do your homework and be smart.
