ASR Traction Control Issue - Help/Advice Please
Morning guys. Question for you; is anyone having an issue with the ASR "stepping" in too early?
Under normal driving conditions, specifically low speed turns (20-30mph) the yellow triangle ASR lamp on the dash is flashing and engine power to the wheels is significantly reduced. It almost seems like the momentum shift of the vehicle is triggering the ASR.
Please let me know if you've had this issue.
Thanks a million,

Are you running stock sized tires?
have you checked tire inflation?
Wash your speed sensor rings?

After carefully reviewing some of the other similar posts on this topic, I feel as though I am dealing with the same issue. With exception to the BAS brake sensor issue, I have what seems like the same symptoms as the guy with the SL600.
Yes my E has aftermarket wheels/tires (38 psi), and dirty speed sensors due to "dusty" brake pads. Unfortunately after reading about all the possible solutions, I've decided to live with it until it gets worse or goes away with the next set of brake pads.
But for now I have a bigger fish to fry with that damn P0400 code!![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Thanks Ohlord

P0400
is easy. M104 engine remove egr tube and replace or clean and reinstall.
Power wash your inner brake areas at a car wash really good around the sensor rings etc then dry with a good spray of brake cleaner before driving.

I paid my guy about an hours labor to do that for me in November. The code came back about 3 weeks later. My guess is that the clog is in one or many of the other hoses. I read online the return hoses clog at the entry point back into the motor???
I'll definitely give the brakes a good wash next time I get a chance. Thanks

This may be a ridiculous thought, but in sunny southern California do we even need the EGR system??? What is the primary purpose of Exhaust Recirculation? I hear/feel that damn pump come on every few minutes when sitting at idle, even when the motor is at peak operating temperature. Unless its vitally important, I'd rather unplug and forget it...
Has anyone tried this?
