1997 e320 transmission fault

Hi all im new to this so please correct my mistakes, I have recently bought a 1997 mercedes e320, 4 days after I got the car the transmission started playing up, it started slipping, id switch the car off for about 10 seconds then back on and it was fine for about 400 metres, now its stuck in I think 1st gear but after 400 metres same thing starts to slip then stops... I took out the egs(transmission control unit) and it is full of oil, could anyone give me some advice on what might be the problem before I waist my money, thankd heaps in advance...

Need more info. How many miles on the transmission? When was last fluid change? Do you have the history of the car before buying it? Contact local Indy shop for evaluation of issues. Any codes?
