rain sensor is a very delicate sensor it have to be positioned well in the windscreen with the perfect degree and mounted on the windshield with a special gel only MB company's have and the UV light of the sensor have to be regulated using a star prog. and the position between the sensor and the windshield have to be exact . only mb certified know this information .

Pos 2 and 3 switched the wiper remain ON ,no matter i switch to Pos 0, unless i switch off the car and turn to pis 0.(In short i can switch OFF the wiper Pos 0 but still wiper its ON) So you still suggest the Sensor?

no not the sensor i think it's the wsitcher of the wiper i think he's damaged because when you put it oh any position it worked fine but if you put it on the 0 position i did not triggered any event on the car computer, but you turn off the car and then on the computer have to check if he found it on 0 position he turn off the car.
NB: i think if the computer it self is damaged a light have to be on on your dash board!!

2000 clk 320 cabriolet
Thanks for the pics and write up. I've been looking for the last two days on this forum for exactly this so I can replace the comb. switch on my 2000 CLK 320. I've had the part for a year, but not the guts to go digging into it.
Gotta love this site.

But to answer your question, anything is possible if you have the patience and enough money for the parts. You'll need (at the minimum) a different combo switch, windshield and the rain sensor. Then the car will need to be programmed with an Star so it will recognize the new feature. There might be more but I think you get the idea. Not worth it in my opinion.

Hi all ... Accept this is an old post but it has some relevence.
My rain sensor has dropped off ( the black wired cover, not the bit stuck to the window) .... Mercedes replaced the winscreen a couple of years ago and looks like they didnt stick it on very well.
I notice above mercedes are meant to have the secret of re applying, but has anyone had any luck using a product available in stores?
Halfords have a glass glue, but its glass to glass or metal to glass.
Any products reommended? Thx
