I have an E 320 , 1998,
60,000 Miles on it.
Just rebuilt the transmission
The other day i drove it around non stop at high speed on the interstate with the air on for a good 300 miles..... at 90- 100 miles per hour
car did fine no trouble good power
however, next day when i checked the coolant level i found a brownish thick liquid in it .....
i drained that flushed the system and
drove the car again in city but its doing fine
oil level is where it was before this happened
do i have a bad head gasket??? or is it the engine oil cooler? or can it be the tranny????? what is it and which is worse
???
lov my car and am scared! pls help

Hard to say for sure based on 'thick brown liquid'. If you just replaced the transmission fluid it should still be red in color. Although it fades to brown after a few thousand miles. Are you sure the coolant was clear (straw yellow) previously?
Liquid level doesn't tell much since engine/transmission each hold about 8qts and 0.1 qts looks like a lot in the wrong place.
FYI, if you are using Mobi1 Synthetic and the correct MB transmission fluid you can test by putting a drop on a white paper towel and spraying a little all purpose cleaner like Fanstastic on it. Mobil1 will turn pink and transmission fluid will not. Good check if you find a spot under the car.
