Another a/c thread

My a/c pumps out cold air. The werid part is that it pumps out cold air no matter what the temp is set at. I also have a hissing noise in the center of the dash.

1-80
2-84
3-58
4-57
5-49
6-186
7-12
8-118

I know I need a recharge but would that affect the hot air?
No errors!

300E a couple 1994 w124wagon E320 Wagon/,1971MGB Track/Rally, MG Midget Autocross ,2000 E320 wagon.
Turn it up

to high and see if right side left side heater core temps climb
Values 3and 4.
Observe while it ramps up.
Also run the errors program of the diagnostics and post them.
You could have a stuck closed duo valve. Often freed up by a simple firm non denting blow up alongside the valve cans with the wood end of a small hammer or wood handled screw driver. Thunk Thunk and watch the values climb with the temp set to high.

It worked, now I have a riddle for you lord! With the heat on HI, it now stoped blowing air in the center vents all together, and only heat through the outside vents. When I put the a/c on it starts blowing cold air through the center and still warm air on the outside vents!

For most of us that is normal operation. However, for some warm air comes out of the center vent. It may have to do with the air nozzle in the center console storage box. It's there to allow something to be kept cool in summertime. But hot air might elevate temperatures pretty high in a closed container. Just my 'theory'.

So you think it maybe directly effected by the outside temp? Thats interesting because the day the heat worked on HI, it was under 55 degrees and it hasn't been that cold since. Still my outside vents blow hot air, while the center blows cold with A/C

Nothing to do with outside temperature. MB design is to provide only cool air thru the center vent.

How have I never noticed this? Still cant figure out why the outside vents blow hot air with the a/c on, when the center ones work.

Figured it out but excuse my amatuer explaination I know nothing about a/c systems. The heat coming from only the outside vents while the a/c was on has something to do with a part that sometimes fails to open or close allowing only hot air to flow. Normally caused by infrequency of use. Or crud build up? Anyways it normally fixes it's self, which it did. Thanks to everyone for contributing
