You are probably in 'Limp Home' mode which is described in your owners manual. It is designed to get you home or to a service location without doing additional damage to the transmission. You need to have a dealer or well-heeled independent MB mechanic scan your car for MB error codes. That will begin to give you an idea of the problem.
