rust around rear window: how to disassemble rear hatch
How do I remove the inside upholstery off the hatch door of my e32o wagon?
ok, this is my first post. I did several searches to try to ensure I was not creating a post that already exists. Rust is developing around the window on the hatch of my 2001 e320 wagon. It seems to be coming from inside the panel. I tried to take the panel apart to look at it, but I can't seem to get the inside upholstery off the hatch. It appears to be fastened to the panel with plastic plugs along the sides of the panel, but I don't know how to remove those plugs.
thanks in advance.

Harborfreight
carries a full kit of plastic wedges etc for car int. removal.
You need to also remove the fitting around the lift/close strap to take off the panel.
Someone posted the wis for hatch removal on the forum so search some more
it would take me longer to explain and I need to go remove a 300E lock tumbler
Member Mark Cummins posted the wis if not mistaken.
Quickly remove side plugs clips and the mentioned center strap.
take pictures to remind yourself what goes where.
