AC blower slows under acceleration

I noticed when it is hot outside and I'm running the a/c, the blower slows way down when I accelerate. It only does this when it is hot outside and the car has been running and is hot. The blower LCD does not change with the blower speed. It starts blowing fine when I let off the gas a little. Is this normal? I don't remember this happening in previous years. I know it is not the regulator because I have a 2 of them and it does this no matter which one I have installed.

Wow that is a strange one. My blower is doing something similar but not influenced by speed of car. It is more of an off and on again at random times. I actually joke with
people who ride in by car that I have the "breeze" option on my fan. Pretty sure the blower motor needs to be replaced again (did it years ago too). Best of luck.

It seems the fan is blowing but it is like something blocks the air passages when accelerating. Then when I let off the accelerator the air rushes out. It only does this after driving for awhile and it is hot. The system blows cold air when it comes out of the vents. Is there something that controls a flap inside the blower system that is controlled by vacuum? I don't have any ac fault codes.

Sounds like you may have a issue with the cars charging system. What happens when you turn your lights on or other heavy consumers of juice??

Have you gotten to the point where the fan draws so much amperage that the blower fuse blows!!

nothing in regards to the lights and i'm not blowing a fuse. it was hot this weekend and i noticed when going uphill the blower would nearly stop blowing air through the vents in the dash when the engine was under load. once i made it up the hill and started coasting down, without pressing on the accelerator the vents would blow cold at high speed (normal). i had the same problem with a '96 dodge truck that would push the air flow to the defrost vents when you accelerated hard. that fix was a vacuum split under the hood.

1995 Camaro started doing the same thing...

The car has 160K miles on it and has just gotten a new AC system and a blower, so that equipment should be OK. However, I might have a charging problem. I still have my original alternator and I am getting ready to replace it because I have noticed my voltmeter is sometimes dropping to about 11 volts at times. Also, I can see my voltmeter "bounce" when my turn signal is blinking. I will let you know if the new alternator fixes the AC Blower slowdown on acceleration, hopefully in about 3 weeks.
