Mercedes W210 E200 Kompressor: compressor problem
Hello guy,I write from Italy and I read often this forum, but is so long that I don't write.
If you remember I starting to write here when I had a Smart.
Over the years I've bought other Mercedes cars, including this E 200 Kompressor.
I have a problem with this car that I would expose.
In the last month on my E 200 Kompressor (1999 M.Y. - 120.000 Km) I feel a loud noise coming
from the compressor when the component start to function.
At first I didn't hear the noise inside the car because you don't hear
anything. But outside the noise is clearly noticeable.
To explain myself better I made this little video, for you will be more
clearly understand and see the problem:
http://youtu.be/b-DUwCX59us
Like you can see in the video there are three little clips.
The first clip is taken from the driver's seat, with the door open,
accelerated to engage the compressor. You hear the noise, but then closing the
door, you hear nothing from inside, only the normal noise of the engine.
The second clip shows the noise outside the car with the bonnet closed.
The last clip is with the bonnet up. I take the compressor engages and the
noise is evident.
Please, after viewing the video, give me an opinion? Everything seems ok and
normal or not?
I must say that, like always, the car is fine and run well.
Someone told me that the noise could be due to a bearing that is breaking, it
might be possible?
Apart from the loud noise, the compressor seems to work well, so I would not
change but only repair the parts that are obviously damaged or may break.
Is possible to repair the component without changing the entire piece with a new one?
Can someone tell me the code of the bearing, please?
Thank you in advance for the help that you want to give me,
Bye, Matteo
