Changing headlights/w Headlight Washers
Hey everyone,
Tried to do some researching, and search for videos, but could not find an exact procedure for this. I watch the youtube video on taking out the headlights, but is it the same with headlight washers? Do they just stay there after removing the panel or is it more complex? Any input would greatly be appreciated! Thanks!

The come out the same way. the washers will come out with the panel. There it's gonna be hoses attached to the washer. I had enough slack and was able to move it enough to the side, to be able to get the headlight out without having to remove the hoses

Yea, I believe so. One side has an in and an out hose, to connect to the other side. There might be some wires too. Cant remember? You'll be fine, just take your time, and dont manhandle anything.

the aftermarket projector lights are *woefully* inferior to OEM reflectors in terms
of light output, though they arguably improve the aesthetics when viewed on
the car.
some folks will attempt to put lipstick on a pig by then inserting HID kits. the
problem here is that the Depo projectors inside....poor to begin with...were
never calibrated to function with the D2S bulbs from the HID kits. the result
is a poorly focused bright beam.
if your car currently has OEM reflectors, be they halogen or HID, based on light
output alone, eveness in spread and coverage, you're better off leaving them
as-is........or.........
going all out and modifying the Depo with full retrofit: heat open the Depo,
yank out the Depo inner projector. replace with gen-u-wine MB E55 bixenon
inner projector. (see - Benz's thread here)
there are better OEM HID projectors out available on the market but the E55
has be easiest and best fit into the Depo.
(here is my 99 E320 with Depo....further modified with E55 bixenon)
p.s. great look with upgrade, a-Sarkar

Raymond: what happen when you wash the car with a little hot engine? you got some condensation inside the headlights? i got it but i buy the depos and retrofit them the same day (i don't know if the problem comes from factory sealed headlights). the problem is the Depo's as well or maybe i get some water inside the headlight when i wash the car! i'm pretty sure i sealed them propperly, i use lots or RTV grey silicon when i glued. But.. what happen with yours? 1 or 2 hours after clean the car the stupid condensation desapper completly

1+ E55 bi-xenons are the best in to the depo's, Just do that!

i've had the headlights retrofitted about 4 yrs now. early on, the main/low
headlights would show condensation occasionally (about 4-5x). usually, this
is a result of insufficient ventilation.
so examine the vent hose in the rear, to verify that it is not plugged.
also, be sure that the cover which protects the rear of the headlight is well
sealed. sometimes, after being modified for the high tension lead, the rear
gasket (or O-ring) is insufficient to seal out moisture.
after washing the car/engine, just prop the hood and run the engine for 5
minutes.
having a hot engine boiling the moisture just turns to steam and may allows
this humid hot air to waft around the compartment and into every crevice....
including seams in the rear of the headlight

obviously, not all condensation originates from same root cause. i'm highlighting
what i think are the most likely causes, especially a retrofitted headlight

Hey Raymond, thanks for the comment! They are a nice upgrade but I'm still looking for something a bit brighter.. I will probably end up attempting the E55 bixenon
inner projector swap (Thanks for the link btw).
Fabio, I did not attempt to switch the inner projectors yet, so as of right now, I don't have the moisture problem. But raymond's idea of having the engine on for a while so the hot air can evap the moisture after a car wash sounds good, so i'd probably give that a try first!

Here is a good deal on some e55 projectors, for your retrofit Sakar.

Yeahp! i just start the engine and turn on the hi/low beams for a couple minutes and all the moisture desappear! is not a problem really, but i dont like to see all this condensation inside the new headlights when it's raning with the headlamps on it will get some moisture inside too i'm pretty sure the problem is not the rear seal O-Ring, cause i made some proves in this area with a blue liquid paint to see what happen and they seal propperly all round the trim in the 2 headlamps) also the 2 hoses are plugged propperly from the Depo factory (no mods in this area)
But maybe i would made some changes adding some hoses to ventilated the inside headlamps a little more.
If anyone have this issue and solve it, please let me know!
