Radio went out while driving
I was driving to work this morning, flipping through a.m stations because my favorite talk radio had switched to sports for some reason and while I was scanning then stations, it shut off and started blinking for my radio code. I haven't had any other problems. Is this a sign that my battery could be going dead or a fuse problem?

Well, maybe if you hit a bump it could be a momentary short to ground. Symptoms of a failing battery are loss of sync on sunroof and express windows feature and unexplained sensor problems. For me it was a faulty oil level sensor message and BAS/ESP warnings. If you have a decent DMM you could check the battery voltage when you get home (last drive of the day) and first thing next morning. Change should be no more than 0.1-0.2v
Also, you could have the battery removed and have a load test performed on the bench but if the battery is over 4 yrs old it's suspicious.
FYI, if the radio is OEM (Alpine/Becker) there is a fuse in the back of the radio as well as the fuse panel.

So i pulled out the radio and found that the main connection was loose and/or not installed properly last time the radio was out. Although my battery is 4 years old, voltage was reading correctly. Problem solved so far. Thank for the help Richard, your f.y.i saved the day. I would've never checked the back of the radio without it.
