2001 E430 Tranny is popping
I have an 2001 E430 (122K miles) and just recently my tranny has been popping a little when I really excelerate. I have also noticed a small amount of fluid on my garage floor which I am now assuming is tranny fluid. I plan on taking it to get flushed. I do not want to get hosed by the dealer so I am asking how much should I plan on spending?
Thanks in advance for your help

Do you have knowledge about wether the tranny has been flushed before? Most advise that unless you have low miles or have regularly flushed your tranny from new, Then you should only need do a drain, and refill. There are d.i.y posts that are great in detail. It's a fairly easy task if you're ok with mechanicals. As far as costs i'm not sure but I do know that a d.i.y if always cheaper
Heres a link to the d.i.y

MB ATF for your car is about $15/qt (autohausaz) and $21 (dealer). You need 9 quarts. Filter and pan gasket, if replaced, at about $20. I think dealers get about $375-$400. Having the pan pulled is a good idea as you can check for any debris in the bottom which is a sign of transmission damage if excessive.
Since there is no drain plug on your torque convertor you need to use an fluid exchanger to get all of it out.
You might also check the electrical connection on the side of the trans for the source of the leak. It's common for the o-rings to fail.

Well I figured out that it was my engine mounts. They had gone out (broken) and was putting an excessive amount of torque on the tranny I guess. I had them replaced and of course now it is running smooth as ever.
Well it was until my front wheel bearings started going out.
