Picked up a 2000 E320.Need help with Central Locking System
Hey Guys, I just picked up a 2000 E320 W/103k on it. The previous owner only gave me one key(the main one) which doesn't work,no led comes on and Ive already replaced the batteries.
Now the Real Problem.
Also the Central Locking system doesnt work, all doors,trunk, and fuel door are stuck unlocked. I cant lock them from inside or outside with the key (Suggesting an electrical Problem?). Ive checked all the fuses under the rear seat and dashboard with no luck. When I hold the button on the console for the Locks I hear the vacuum motor run for about 5 sec. Auto dim lights work,Rear headrest work,trunk button on console works.... What do I check next??

Rear Headrest Work

All Fuses tested good

Hi and Congrats on the 'new' car -
I'd begin by checking the vacuum pump and lines for a air leak. The pump is next to the battery and covered by foam rubber. If all of the lines seem intact try disconnecting them one at a time and plugging the outlet. Of course the pump could also be failing. New PSE is about $500 + labor.
FYI, your car came with 3 keys when new. Two smart keys and one emergency (no remote capability). Replacement/additional keys are a dealer only item and about $275.
