E500 Wagon
SRS light on dash
I have a 2001 E320 wagon. Whenever my wife sits in the passager seat the SRS light comes on. My Mercedes Tech says it's the pad for the Mercedes child seat detector. My tech also told me it would be $900+ to install a new pad. Never planning to have a child seat in the front seat what can I do? Want to make sure the air bag will work IF something where to happen but it seems ridiculous to spend $900+ to correct the detector light. Any suggestions?
Thanks
Thanks

Light on
means the passenger will face the smashing windshield issue.![EEK!](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/eek.gif)
part is under $200 and relatively easy diy if you want to tackle it.
Check the harness first then if not fixed follow the diy on benzworld.org w210 diy forum.
Some members have even managed to do it without pulling the seat(which is not all that hard to do)
last suggestion....find a better tech

E500 Wagon
Thanks for info. I looked on benzworld at the DIY area. Could not find anything. I just went over the page for the second time. If I can restore a few cars and motorcycles the seat should take less time.
