49 Offset Question

I've done search but in the countless threads I've read everyone is discussing 17, 18+ inch rims.
My understanding is that stock my 1997 E320 comes with 7.5" 16" rims offset 41. Every other fitment hovers around 35mm offset.
I sold my 2008 C class and I have a great set of DIAL RH rims with snow tires on that I used on the C class. I tried to sell them, but all I got was lowballers, so I'm thinking instead of taking out the tires and using them on the old original rims, that maybe I could fit the DIAL rims on the E320. They are 16", 7.5 wide and 49mm offset.
Will these 8mm make a difference in anyway? The tire size is stock 215/16
Do I need to get 10mm spacers? How about the lugnuts?

Thanks in advance...

Just chiming in but there will probably be more knowledgeable replies from others. I just went through a lot of research myself but it was on 18 inch rims where there is more plentiful advice as you mention.

Since the 16 inch spec for W210 is 16 x 7.5” and so are your wheels they should fit one way or another with the spec sized tire. Can you could do a test fit to see if you need spacers? My guess is that the primary area you'll be looking at is a suspension bolt at the top, back side of the front wheels. If it is too close, you'll need the spacers.

I seem to recall reading that newer mercedes wheels use a different lug bolt but you can get special lug nuts from a company called RAD USA. If your aftermarket wheels used the factory bolts on your 2008 you may need the same things.

The bolts I bought for CLS wheels were 20-4067-B which very well could be the same things you need. Can't say for sure.

Otherwise, can you call your wheel manufacturer and find out what kind of bolt you need? You need to know what kind of head is on the bolts for the wheels. Then you need to get that head on something close to a 26mm 12mmx1.5 shank.

That's the best I can come up with based on very little wheel knowledge, so use at your own risk!

Thanks for your reply! Hope more people will chime in....

I guess I could do a test fit and see what happens. With regards to the bolt, they dont look to me any different. I guess if I have to get a spacer I will have to get new bolts then....

I really cant remember what the 16 wheels are on a W210 .. but I will take your word for it , that the OEM wheels are 16x7.5 with 41mm ET ( offset ) , so if the RH wheels ( I think they are made by RIAL if I am not mistaken ) , are 16X7.5 with 49mm ET .. that means that they sit in ( toward the inside of the car ) more by exactly 8mm.. that means that yes you should be fine with a 10mm spacers ... be careful though .. use ONLY HUB CENTRIC spacers and nothing else ... H&R are the best just make sure that they go tight against the RH wheels .. some of those german wheels are bored in such a way that they only take their special spacers ... ( Brabus and Carlsson wheels are that way ) . Lug Bolts .. if youre lucky then MAYBE your old bolts will work as long as you get a full 8 rotations to tight ( via the wrench that is ) if not , then you should measure the stem ( the treaded part ) and order ones that are 10mm longer ( to make up for the spacers thickness of 10mm .. you should onto the RAD BOLTS website they should have all the bolts you need and the guy there knows his business and very nice .
Hope that helps, Max

The stock OEM offset for a W210 chassis is 35et unless it is a 4matic which is 31. Check the back of your wheels . It will be cast there to be sure.

I dont think that the older 16X7.5 were 35 ET ..but I may be wrong.

You may be correct Maxworks. It still should be stamped/ cast on the back of the wheel along with the size. My older W124 was also 35ET from 1990.
