german ebay

gotta question for you guys, i just won a auction over at ebay.de but i'm trying to talk to the seller and see how to pay for it, he doesn't understand english so i have to translate it for him to german, has anyone sent money there before and how is it, his seller rating is 2 which isn't good and i don't want to send a money order and not get anything back? its for a set of the w210 blinker lights for about 190, he keeps saying i take euro, well no ****..

guys help me out here i'm losing my mind.

I bought my bumper directly from Carlsson in Germany and had to wire the money from my bank account to theirs. Here is a website for converting currency: XE. Here is a translation site as well: Babelfish. 190 EUR currently converts to $224.95 USD but could change any second. I know he won't take credit cards (neither did Carlsson) and bank wiring would be the way I did it so I have a transaction record and also his bank account and routing number. Hope this helps. Good luck...

I have purchased a lot of things from German ebay. The bablefish web site works well enough but isn't alway acurate. It is the best out there for now. Paypal is starting to catch on and you can pay directly in euros too if the seller accepts it. You need to ask them. Most of the sellers want a direct wire transfer but this is expensive. You can also get forien drafts from your bank in euros. The best thing that I did that has so far worked is to transfer your dollars in to euros at the international airport or bank. It is the same as sending cash in the mail so don't do it for those high priced items. Be aware that they stiff the buyer with the ebay charges and shipping is high.
