Question Transmission Mount Question

I am getting ready to replace the motor mounts on my 2000 E320. The dealership where I purchased my car (they are NOT a Mercedes dealership) is telling me that Mercedes recommends replacing the transmission mount at the same time. I can't find any such recommendation on any threads or other boards. Do any of you have any knowledge of this recommendation? Does that sound correct or is the service department trying to make a few more bucks on me? By the way, they quoted a great price for replacing both the motor and transmission mounts: $500. Feedback?

300E a couple 1994 w124wagon E320 Wagon/,1971MGB Track/Rally, MG Midget Autocross ,2000 E320 wagon.
Total parts

for all 3 about $150 follow the diy and you will be done in under 2 hours and up 350 bucks plus tax.
Trans mount is subject to wear and oil and dirt. When exposed for 11 years it gets swollen and sloppy. Good practice to replace it when doing mounts since you are down there anyway and the tarns mount is under 20 bucks the car is off the ground, your tools are all lined up and ready for action.

Re: ohlord

You're a wealth of information! Not a mechanical bone in my body however, so I won't even attempt a repair such as this (what are tools? lol). After viewing some of the other price quotes from around the country for just the motor mounts installed, I thought that I was quoted a pretty darn good price for all three.

I wouldn't have done it either...there's something about lying under a heavy engine, in a heavy car...inches from my nose...
