New e430, lowering question!

Hi, I'm new on these forums and have some questions for all you w210 guys. I found this board when i was looking for ideas for my 2002 e430 that I plan on picking up this week. Just under 70k miles for just over 10k. Clean car, looks like a pretty cool deal too me.

So I really like the look of the lowered w210s and i plan on doing it to my soon to be e430. How Low do you guys recommend to lower it? and how much should a good job run me? also are there any major problems you guys have had due to lowering your benz?

nearly all lowering is done for aesthetics around here so the end result is in the
eye of the beholder. whereas some owners accept nothing less than slammed
which is about 1.5-2", others (me) accept 1" lowering.

the road conditions and the type of driving in your neck of the woods may also
affect how much to drop the suspension.

the primary concerns is alignment. any more than an inch drop and one should
plan to purchase camber arms to offset the extreme negative camber in the
rear. E210s don't come equipped with adj rear camber, but the front has a
limited range which is usually enough to compensate.

springs $300
camber arms $250
labor $500-1000
wheel arch reshaping $200+-
shorter shocks $400+
realignment $100
spring pads $10-20 each

do it yourself-able tasks - remove/replace springs, R&R shocks, purchase
spring compressor $200.....floor jacks, jack stands, tools...

lowered mine another .5" all around after this shot

afterthought: the ride will suffer and will return a harsher ride. two competing
lowering springs under different manufacturers may give differing ride due to
their spring rate design....while still giving you the same drop. so much reading
is needed, or asking owners of same model what they purchased and if they can
describe to you the ride (clearly subjective).
