Can I make this key case work?
I need a replacement case for my key..... Can the case from this key work on my key for a '97 E-Class?

Try it...
If you can get it apart without breaking it. It looks like it is the same size as the 97 key. As long as the main button lines up with the one button on the board in your original key. If that ones has not been programmed yet, see if it can be programmed for your car for at least the one button.

This may not be relevant, but the ML key is primarily an RF remote... IR is secondary.
