AutoTap Express DIY Hardware and Software
I'm looking a purchasing this unit. I'ts on special for $49. It seems to give some good real time data for a reasonable price. What do ya'll think.

Autotap
is a fair unit. However short of reading o2 values that are rarely needed(most o2 sensors throw codes when running out of range) real time data is almost never needed in a non shop usage.
A 50 buck scanner that reads codes and clears them, and then posting the codes to the forum is probably your best move.
Autotap may tell you a p0170 and p0173 are fuel trim values but they won't tell you the solution.
A hand held obd2 scanner can be tossed in the trunks tool kit, needs no laptop, and you always have it with you.
temps, voltages, digital speed read out,etc are all available on your onboard diagnostics so why pay twice? Just learn how to utilize what you already own.
