W210 shake when put to reverse.
My 2000 E class W210 (a little over 73K miles) shake. I am retired, not driving too much. I plan to replace the fuel filter & spark plugs when the weather getting warmer (the car is over 12 years old). Since last week, the car running fine, but when I put it to reverse, the steering rim vibrate (shake a lot), when the car going forward, it run smoothly, quiet. The tranny shift smoothly (trans. service done 3 years ago, when it was 40K miles). Can the W210 expert give me some advise ?. My guess is " may be one (or both) engine mount is bad " or anything else ?. TIA.

had the same problem. it also had a rough idle, so i posted here. luckily, there are guys on here who are a great help to this community.

had the same problem. it also had a rough idle, so i posted here. luckily, there are guys on here who are a great help to this community.

The motor mounts were in last week. Replaced them today with 12 new spark plugs make the car run different. The fuel filter replacement as routine maintenance, NO MORE shaking when put the car to reverse (the old motor mount were very bad), the car run a lot smoother than before, I guess the new spark plugs help. That's it for now.
