I've not had any problems in over 4 years. They carry a lot of MB OE fluids, filters and repair parts. The Lemfoerder mounts are the same ones you'll be handed if you go to the parts counter at the dealership. They even have the MB part number engraved on the side of the mount. As the mounts are over $50 you will get free UPS Ground shipping.

I purchased a pair from Autohaus for about $65 ea. and my Indy charged me $200 to install them which I thought was fair.
Ohlord's advice is reasonable but at age 74 I opted to have the Indy do it.

That's per side. On autohausaz descriptions they always quote price for each. In the body it will say something like '2 required per car'.
I did my own and it's not difficult. Having a good assortment of tools is helpful. You might want to read the DIY and see what you think. The upper mounting bolts are hard to get to and you have to detach the A/C compressor to make enough room to slide the left MM out. Finally you have to have a way to raise the engine.

If the dealership is charging me $190 and an indie is charging me the same, where should I go? I've been going to the dealership with this car my whole life...

I would've loved to do this as a father-son project, but I moved out for college and my dad's not in the best shape

ohh ok. Then I'll be going through my dealership. I was actually surprised too when they agreed to use the parts I provided and gave me a quote for the labor! I thought they were going to turn it down because I wasn't using their parts.
Also, I was wondering when I order the motor mounts from autohausaz.com, do I have to specify that they are for left/right? or do I just order 2 of the same part and they will fit on either side.

The ebay
seller is lying. Nothing about those parts is OEM.
Hamburg Technic is a re seller of substandard so called oe parts.
There is no way in hell that they can claim as they do that those mounts are original equipment manufactured.
Wait,wait. see they claim
Surface Finish: STANDARD OEM
Cheap junk
spend the money at autohausaz get a quality part.

Before you order the the Autohaus part -- check the price from an online MB dealer and see how close -- with the MB part you get the MB Warranty.
I have ordered a lot of parts from Autohaus for many different makes - always been happy ....... I don't go for the cheapest prices ...they sell many OEM's at good prices.

That refers to the VIN when that part number is no longer valid. That's a build date of 6/99. As your car is a 1998 it was built before 6/99 which is about the time that the MY2000 would have started production. Your VIN should be around A6xxxxx??

ok so I brought my car to Mercedes of Monterey for the motor mount replacement. First, they changed the original quote from $190 to $260 because they had to move the A/C compressor. Second, and more important, they did not reattach the air intake to the engine, which made it so that I couldn't even make it back home that night. The car kept dying every time I stopped. Luckily, it first happened when I was close to my friend's house. I tried driving it home, thinking it was just a one time thing. After a few more stops with the car dying at each one, I drove back to my friend's house. I would've kept going if I was by myself, but I didn't want to put the lives of 2 kids that were with me in danger. My dad eventually came to try to drive it back. We were about 2 miles from home when the engine completely stopped and we were stuck on the road. After about 10 minutes of trying to get it to start, we finally got it going and got it home. I'm just really pissed because they put the lives of 2 children in danger.
What should I do?
