My automatic shift boot
Here's my take of the shift boot on the w210 (auto). I did half the shift surround because I wanted to be able to access the w/s switch easily and also view the indicators. I think it looks nice, maybe too much material in the boot but eh, whatever! Oh and yeah, its not a 100% solution to spilling liquid around the shifter area but again, I did it for the looks and to keep some functionality.
This is what I did. Purchased another shift surround (black/grey frame), cut it and wrapped boot around the right side piece. Installed and voila! Pretty simple. Like I said, there is probably too much leather there but it doesn't seem to interfere with the shifting so I'm ok with it.

Not to shabby! I think that for a DIY it came out great. I think it would look awesome if you could get some stitching that matched the color of your seats. If you like it thats what really matters though!
