Need help with gas tank R&R
2001 E430 Sport (275,500 miles!) ad I imploded my gas tank. Sure hope all that caused it was the purge valve on the l.f. inner fender.
But the fuel tank has started to leak on the bottom front left side. With the trunk trim out, I can not actually see the leak. I pulled the rear seat hoping to find an access panel, but no panel.
I went into EPC to see what I could discover there and it seems there is a tank filter there, but the EPC does not show where the various fuel lines are connected or how.
Looks like 4 nuts hold the tank in the trunk, and the whole think looks as if a slight pull out and to the driver's side is all that there is, but I'd like to know how or where to disconnect the fuel lines, and any tips for not spilling fuel all over the place.
