Radio Code Problem
Radio Code Problem
After disconnecting my battery the radio is asking for the radio code, which is normal. However, the radio code that I was provided by Mercedes is NOT unlocking the radio. I searched the forum and am not finding a similar problem. Anyone have any ideas? I attempted to contact MBUSA but they are closed. Becker wants $20 to perform a serial number search on the radio, which I really don't want to pay. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Search radio
decoder. Both Raymond and I posted it or a link to it on the forum.
Punch in serial number gives you code. Worth a try.
Sure you are entering the code correctly?

Re: Radio Code
Thanks for the info and if I can't find the thread I hope you can help me find it? I thought the same thing about the code so I made sure that I was in fact entering the correct code. I am getting older and my short-term memory isn't what it used to be
. So, I did double and triple check...

Is there anyway to get the serial number without pulling the radio? I had read in another thread that there is supposed to be a way to get the serial number to readout on the dash. Ever of hear of this and if so how do I get to it?
ohlord, I finally found your post and this was the link: http://www.radio-code.lt/radio-mercedes
I finally figured this site out...had to change the list of models to pictures of the face plates and instantly found mine. Will have to pull the radio tomorrow and get the serial number and then run it for the code. Wish me luck! I have read on some other threads that for whatever reason the Becker stopped taking the actual code and had to be replaced. Hope that is not my case. At any rate, I appreciate the research and answers that you guys always provide.

I pulled the radio this morning and wrote down the serial number (the unit appears to be a replacement unit). Ran the serial number on the link above and also had found another Becker program that generates radio codes as well. So, I ran the serial number in each program and received two different radio codes and neither worked. After some additional research, I realized that when using the web site above that you DO NOT input the first two letters of the serial number. After re-entering the number, absent the first two letters, the program generated a code and my radio is now unlocked. Thanks ohlord!

Been to Springfield too, but not for outdoor activities. I went to college at Antioch in Yellow Springs, a stone's throw away. ohlord I didn't realize you were familiar with these parts!

Still have some land there
Most of my Father's Family was from that area as pioneers in about 1790.
We went every summer when we were kids and spent time at Grandma's house along side the railroad tracks with a big open field out front and acres of corn out back. Some Tire dealer named after the family is still around those parts and a road named after the family cuts through the county someplace.
I loved those warm days of Summer.
12 miles to your school....heck when I was a kid I probably thought it was a stones throw
