Radio & Power outlets not working
99 E320 4matic wagon - Some issues with the radio not working, but surely that is a fuse somewhere of all the fuse boxes it has. No power to radio . I know there are 3 fuse boxes, but fuse details re little confusing. No. 5 *(11) fuse and its backwards on another label 11*(5). Yi yi yih.. which is which? I'm a newbie to MB so still learning. I also know there is some type of code one must enter to reset the radio? We'll cross that bridge I guess when we get to it.![Confused](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/confused.gif)

I think there is also a fuse on the back of the radio. I don't know what to say about inconsistencies between fuse charts. The cigar lighter socket can be tricky. For example my cell phone charger will not work in the MB socket but works fine in my other 2 (non-MB) cars. New cars came with a radio code card but those seem to disappear. If you don't find one it might be written in the owner's manual or any dealer can give it to you from your VIN.

Yes I have tied to get the radio out via a fingernail file, but not much luck. Indeed the fuse on the back may be the issue. The car even came with a mercedes phone in the console. My wife noticed it before I did. Neato to look at , but already have enough phones Any insight on removing the radio easily anyone?

People have used metal fingernail files but I don't remember if any modification is needed. MB sells radio removal keys or tools and they are available from dealers and probably found on ebay.
Phone is analog and obsolete but there are ways to make the system functional again. Look at www.wireless4mb.com for some solutions.

Start by looking at under-hood fuse box, with the car off verify fuses #1 and #11 both should be 15A, I guess you could also check #5? according to the to what you posted...
Good luck

Update - Removed Radio -
I checked both 1 & 11 and are 15 amp. sound system fuses 25amp are ok as well. 10 amp in back of radio is good. Fuses under seat are good.
still no power to radio but all power to cigar lighter & back power point work now.( I noticed Key must be on for this to work).. SO now Im thinking maybe either I'm missing something or the radio is bad. A plus though... I found the radio code on the unit.

Thanks for the videos; those are the radio removal keys or tools I was talking about.
I have read a few times that we can't always be sure a fuse is good simply by visual inspection. Do you have a multimeter to check them?

@ ohlord - Radio is blank. Code is not displayed. And yes I did check Fuse 5 & appears to be good. Replaced with another as well as the one in back of radio with a 10A. Still no power to radio. All fuses are in good contact. have not checked with multimeter but will do so this weekend. Console phone & all plugs have power... indeed puzzling that radio has none. Thanks for replying. All help is appreciated.
