I will no doubt take some flack from Mr Fabulous about my suggestion, however since no one including me took the time to look for you in the FREE MB EPC site to get the correct answer to your question.

My suggestion, to get the correct answer yourself, is use the FREE MB EPC site--very simple and you will learn much in the process. Good Luck

Yes they are different,

E430 M113 (W210)

Camshafts: 113 050 3401/ 3501

E500 M113 (w211)

Camshafts:113 050 3601/ 3701

Also intake and exhaust valves are different too

Intake: 113 053 0601 Exhaust: 113 053 0327 (E500)

Valve springs/retainers are the same

Go for kleemann cams if you want to upgrade (money/gain)

You will got few hp/tq at the dyno, but you can't feel the difference driving the car, i think is a good project, but 1000$ per 5 - 8 hp is to much, maybe you want some kleemann's (1200$ if i remember good) for 15hp/20tq

Let me know what do you think, and i tell you a tip, install the complete exhaust system from a e55 W210 (factory one) buy one used and you will see a good benefit, also deleat the center resonator and replace with an x pipe
