Hey guys, i own a 1999 Mercedes E430 classic. I have owned it for about 8 months. Since last week i have getting this "LAMP DEFECTIVE" warning below the speedometer. I parked my car turned on ever single light in my car (inside and outside) and did a visual inspection. I couldn't see any died out bulb. I did notice that my rear, left side turn signal light was emitting just a faint light and so i took it to my car dealership and asked them why and they gave me a MB replacement bulb for free. They replaced it and that light is good now. But still i get the warning when i turn on any outside lights of the car and when i turn off the car. I do not know what to do. Please help me out. Thanks in advance.

+1 on license plate light (2 bulbs!).
Intermittent lamp warnings are fairly common on W210s. Often the left rear tail/stop assembly is a problem. MB uses a design which doesn't require wires attached to the socket. Instead the socket makes contact via metal tabs on the housing. Sometimes just rotating the socket slightly will make better contact.
