Hi,
I hope all is well.
My manual reads, When Un-locking the car it should blink 1 time.
And, when Locking the car is should blink 3 times.

My car lights blink 1 time at Unlocking, However, no lights at Locking the car.

Any Idea?
Maybe this is the reason, my windows do not Open and close via the remote, after holding it for few seconds.

The only thing I can think of that you can fix readily is to make sure that all your doors are properly closed and latched. If they're not (i.e., the door caught the first latch, but it's not closed all the way), you also get that "no-blink" condition.

Otherwise, time to schedule an appointment to get it fixed, if it concerns you. If all the doors and the trunk are still locked after you lock it (but get no blinks), I wouldn't worry about it too much.

 

There are no blinks for a 97 E420 are there ?
Or is it in the computer, and needs to be activated ?

 

I dont think there is....The only thing that blinks are the lights on the door handle and rearview...My windows dont roll down neither...I dont think they are supposed to tho.

 

My e430
Bkinks at me once when I open it.
Blinks at me once when I close it.
And when I had my lights on leaves them on for 20 or so secs. so I could see where I am going. Come to think of it I think my E430 likes me.

 

I actually got the windows to roll down on my 97' e420, however only twice. ... and i dont know how i did it. I spent about 15 minutes tying every combination of single and double button pushing that i could think of....

I did give my trunk latch a damn good workout however... and I could no longer nonchalantly run to my trunk to close it after about 10 minutes of this....

but it can be done.


let me know if you ever find out the correct button smashing combination...

 

I don't know about the E430, but when I purchased by 98 E320 about 18 months ago, I took it to the stealership to reset the headlight delay to zero and the radio speed volume sensitivity a little higher, meaning the volume would go up at highway speeds.

The stealership charged me $35 to make the adjustments.

If you're not blinking, think about a visit to get ripped...., uh, I mean, a visit to the dealer.

 

Dealers are just part changers....

I took my MB to the dealer for sunroof problem, it wouldnt open. They asked for $1200. All it took was $4 part which was updated part and it took me 10 minutes to fix the sunroof.

I got my problem solved, everything works great, all it took was $10 clip which sits on rear door look. This part pushes the pin of the door.

After installing that, every thing works, it blinks, windows open and close with remote, light comes on after I exit.

Dr. Diesel pointed that out from another forum.

I love this forum and couple other MB forums. Everyone tries to help out. I always post my experience.

Don't know about the blinking lights because my E420 has the "old-school" blinking red and green light in the door handle and center, rear-view mirror. But I do know about the windows rolling down and it does work! I know all of you guys have read this thread, click on this link for instructions. After you get the hang of it you can get it to work almost everytime! I don't mean to change the subject of this thread but just answering a couple of the questions in here...
