Question on adding HID lights

I've read several stories about people adding HID headlights using OEM parts, etc on both W210 and other cars as well.

My question is - do these retrofits typically include dynamic headlamp beam leveling that is standard on HID headlights when ordered from the factory?

I read that the W210 factory HID headlights have headlamp beam leveling that is controlled via headlamp range adjuster motors and the headlamp alignment control module using signals from the front and rear axle sensors. Are these sensors already there even if you don't have HID headlights from the factory?

I don't want to add HID headlights unless I can prevent accidentally blinding oncoming traffic if I stuff in the trunk, hit a bump, etc.

Cars that do not come with HID from the factory do not include the leveling sensors. Although it is possible to retrofit them, it isn't really worth the time and/or expense. Regarding blinding traffic when hitting a bump, the auto-leveling feature doesn't work that fast. It's not going to re-aim your headlights that quickly to compensate for hitting a bump. Also, unless you have 4 bodies in your trunk, the back of your car will not sag from the weight. Mercedes suspensions are pretty tight and won't sag like a Buick :0)

I find that the W210 only accomodates 3 adult bodies and 1 child, sometimes I can get 2 adults and up to 4 children. I once stuffed 8 midgets in there.
