01 E430 Horn's ineffective sound

Hi, I new to this board.
Has anyone changed the horn , what did you use to replace the original horn, and how difficult it is to replace?
Thanks!

The horn just has a weak, low sound (sounds like borrrrrnn). I also have an 85 300D whose horn is much louder (sounds like PEEEAAATT!!).

I have a similar problem.... Sometimes my horn sounds fine and many other times sounds like only one of the two horns are working....

I was thinking of removing the horns from a 300D. Those were SWEET!

Are you guys sure the horn's not got water in it?

If I was replacing mine, I'd get double air horns - they sure scare the sh_t out of the fxcking inconsiderate drivers.

I had airhorns on my Suburban and man were those things loud! My friend replaced his on his BMW with double horns made by Hella. Don't know if they would work on Benz though...

I didn't think that anyone would notice the wimpy little horns on your E-car! You can be sure that there are not any E-cars roaming the Autobahn in the our Fatherland with your wimpy little ineffectual horns. I think that it’s a noise pollution problem and that M-B should be ashamed of them. I become very suspect of anything that's approved for use in California!

Air horns are fine, but they are too slow to spool up for my likes. (I'm an instant gratification type of guy) Try the Hella replacement horns. They are about 118 decibels and will get everybody's attention, . . . and are painted bright RED.

The Hella 85115 Superhorn (Made in Germany)

Hella Horns

I have a 1999 E-Car and its easier to going in through the space between the right hand high and low beam (after removing the rubber trim ring seal) to allow access to the lower horn.
