I have two issues. #1 I hate my security system so I've been googling for a bypass. folks talk about the K40 with the ignition, blah blah blah.

My second issue is that I have no power w/o the key turned to "on" position. No interior lights, no power locks, no windows or seats ect... then when they key is on, everything works 100% locks ect.

Any chance the K40 controls power when the car is off? the car starts fine, but I know my security system is not quite right. as long as I us the key to enter the car, it's fine.

what say you? would a new k40 give me interior lights and power locks w/o keyed power?

The k40 is actually a relay connection point, like a fusebox. Some people have found cracked solder runs on the bottom.
Have you checked out your door switches first?

no lights when I open door. but my Odomitor and head lights kick up, so i know it's not the door. further more, if the door is open and key is switched "on" the intior lights do come on.

I got no interior lights or power locks w/o the key. has got to be some type of relay that is not needed or bypassed by the key.

I think you're thinking analog in a digital world. Your windows, interior lights, seats and power locks are controlled by control modules linked by a CAN network bus. A fault on any one of them can cause a malfunction on the others. You can get it diagnosed or possibly isolate it yourself by finding the connector, removing one of the 10 components, disconnecting the battery for a minute, and seeing if the problem goes away. Then you replace that component.

First, check all your fuses (pretty important) maybe you would check the relays as well, but my best one is the problem comes by the electrical central unit (i have some problem with an E420 here an the simptoms are the same) you would remove the cental, open it and try heating the unit with a hair dryer, connect it again and try if it works.

Part number #210 820 39 26

Under the hood, passenger side, inside the black control units box. Is the biggest unit (aluminium case) inside the box.

If you have some othe car to try other unit is the best.

But first, please check all the fuses and relays
