New 2000 E320
Purchased my 2000 E320 new, it had maybe had 300 miles on it.
Have had the same problems that everyone has had.(ie. window stuck, command not working, steering boot replaced, transmission, ABS light, and the list goes on)
My problem is that I have had more than usual things wrong on the driver's side of my car. (ie. door threshold has lifted off, power steering problem, ..............) Here is a good one the spring broke off, luckily while the car was parked. Now I notice that the paint on both the front and back doors is starting to bubble and looks like it is going to burst into rust.
Now I don't mind a car ten years old having some rust but not 3 years.
Should I have been told if this car was in an accident when I purchased the car new?
Can't say for sure that it was but it is awfully fishy.
Thank You,
But you have to understand that this was purchased from the dealer "new" with 300 miles on it. They gave me a couple thousand off the sticker, which was rare at the time(2000).
My thoughts would be if someone wrecked this car (ie..salesman) they would not have to report it, unless another party was involved. So there would be no way to find out if it was in an accident.
Already told the service manager after the spring broke off, that I believed that the car was in an accident before it was purchased. Of course his answer was "Oh no that wouldn't happen here"
The strange thing is they don't beleive me when I tell them something is wrong with the car. When the spring broke off, the car was parked in my driveway, they still beleive that I was driving the car and hit a pothole or something. Luckily I have the gentleman with the flatbed truck to be my witness.
Anyway, just trying to understand the best way to approach thing with the dealer, without causing too much hooplah.
Thanks Everyone
By the way, nothing to do with anything.
About 12 years ago, when I was in Miami for the winter, Jimmy the Greek attended my birthday party. I enjoyed him more on TV than in person.
Thanks again
