E420 Sport engine modifications

I am hoping somebody can help me find out if there is anything not too involved that might give the 420 a bit more oomph. I have a eurochip, E55 exhaust and a K&N air filter already. Is there anything else available that I'm missing? I'm not too keen on a $14,000 supercharger, I'd like to keep my kids in a school where they might learn something and "she who must be obeyed" would laugh out loud if told the price.
Any ideas? Thank you all in advance, Christian

What kind of person would be like this? Why don't you find a place that would take her as trade for a super charger, just don't tell them about the above mentioned

Thank you all, am going to 18" rims and serious rubber and a nitrous bottle. $1250 installed with on demand 150hp. Flick the switch, mosh the right hand pedal and keep a close eye on the upcoming scenery.
No supercharger available for a 420(crankshaft weakness) and intake wasn't worth the money. Renntech is staffed by very nice people who will always be able to find work as stand up comedians.

I have wondered, but don't know the answer, if the 3.07 differential of the E320 could be substituted in the E420.
This would likely give you quite a bit more pickup, but lower gas mileage.
I think that may be the only reasonable modification from what I have researched (I also have a 1997 E420).

I have driven a similar car with a rear diff conversion, Evosport offers a $4,800 package. You feel like changing to a higher gear all the time on the highway but you ARE in the highest gear. MPG suffers and the car loses that lovely effortless feel it has on the open road. I haven't decided about nitrous, a little too hot roddish for a MBZ but it would be done by Beverly Hills Mercedes and very unobtrusive. I will wait for a "new" style E55 but I have to wait not only for the new model to come out but for all the idiots here in 90210 who must have the first one on the block and drive up the price too far. I need something in the meantime to make the 18 month(if we are lucky) wait a little more fun.

I have a K&N filter in there and noticed a slight improvement, are you suggesting taking it out altogether? Won't that cause problems? Best, C

What happens? Does one just put it back or is there a cleaning that has to take place? Is it really worth it, can something be permanently be damaged? Thanks, C

you always have to leave some sort of filter to block particles from goin to your engine and give it extreme premature wear or it could suck up a rock who knows
