What is this aerial?
I was under the impression that the radio aerial was integrated into the rear window...

But, my 1996 E280 Avantgarde (German import to Spain) has a small (well at moment, broken) aerial on the rear wing on the drivers side. Is this for the radio or for the phone system?

If its for the phone system (which I dont use), what would you recommend to plug the gap when removing?

Yes its for the phone. I dont know of a plug though.
