To be 100 percent sure, I would suggest that you post your VIN because there have been many changes.
As an example the current part for a generic 210.065 is 000 230 70 11, however even that has many to and from VIN's associated with the part.
If you don't want to do that then----You can Buck Wheat the answers and say -----Oh hell yes it will fit!!!

As long as, repeat as long as part number 000 230 20 11 and or 000 230 70 11 are used from the following models they will interchange.
Models: 210.065\070\074\082\083\265 and .282-------is the 97 E320 one of these models??
Good Luck!!Choose wisely!

Plutoe, his model is 210.065. The necessary Denso A/C compressor (000-230-70-11) from a 2001 E320 does fit the 210.065 (1997 E320), and vice-versa.

You are correct except that 000 230 70 11 was not available in 1997-- 000 230 20 11 was---and remember he wants to go from 1997 to 2001 not 2001 to 1997(see first post)

2001 E320
According to the website above (pelican parts) the part numbers are the same exact ones for '97 and '01 E320. So I will assume it will fit. I just have '97 E320 laying for parts, so I guess I'll try to replace it this weekend.

Please understand the '97 used a Denso 7SB16C - which internally was later replaced by Denso 7SBU16C - frankly the '97 unit is not as reliable long term.
There are a whole lot of reman's out there - and in addition to the wide range in quality between 100's of remn suppliers almost ALL don't identify if you will get 7SB16C or the later 7SBU16C - and actually few even state if you will get a rebuilt Denso at all as compared to rebuilt "equivalents" from India for example.
If you need a OE reliable "new" compressor Sanden-Behr from China was Denso's licensed manufacturer for the China market, now on their own, and a Sanden-Behr new 7SBU16C can be sourced for like $250 - with several internet sources using this China Behr as their private label for $375+ by slapping their labels on it.
Try acpartswarehouse.com - but on this particular part call those guys to see if they have one before ordering - since they get a large # of wholesale orders from other internet retailers for private label so they get zero'd out at times.
Be careful since there is a India made 7SBU16C which is not good which internet retailers sell at about the same price/little more than the Sanden-Behr

Please do not waste all your time with this that and the other----Buy by the part numbers and you will not go wrong.
If you want the older original version use that part number. If you want the current available part use that part number---forget the mumbo jumbo!!
