BAS randomly activated - W210 E300
Hello all.
After each start the engine, at intervals to 35-45 seconds, note the response of the system BAS.
Once, for a very short time, with different intensity - from the sound of the response to a sharp breaking.
Effects noted in both - the movement and stay.
The lights on the dashboard ABS, BAS does not light up.
What I've done so far is:
- Checked charging voltage of 13.3 V, ACC battery - new - 2 months.
- All contacts that are relevant to the ESP/SPS/BAS control module - N47-5, are checked and sprayed with a contact spray;
- Changed the brake light switch;
- Changed the BAS diaphragm travel sensor;
- Checked all voltages and switching, as described in the Star Finder - WebETM;
- Diagnostics with Star Diagnos - no errors.
Please advice on what else to check to fix the annoying problem.

BAS system was tested in my presence with Star Diagnosis of highly experienced service engineer. After a thorough test, it shows NO errors.
The test is repeated in another, independent service from an experienced service engineer.
The result is again - NO errors!
Full tests were made BAS.ABS, ESP - no problems there.
The four tires are the same, the same wheels, properly inflated. In summer and winter tires the problem remains.
As I wrote, have been replaced
- the brake light switch;
- the BAS diaphragm travel sensor
- new battery - one month ago.
The problem persists.

Both tests Star Diagnozis BAS system was in my presence. Personally assured in the absence of errors in the test results.
The lamp on the dashboard is working - every time you start the engine to check all control lights on the dashboard - but you knew that.
For the service engineer has no problems with the system BAS - he says - here - everything is OK and I do see that.
But I also feel the activation of BAS after each engine start.
In two shop - same - no result
Block N47-5 - ESP/SPS/BAS control module- is too expensive to change it without a compelling reason.

Today again testing the system.
Carefully monitored service engineer and his laptop screen.
Procedure which will execute it, is quite exactly the same as you describe.
Errors in the system no.
But .. BAS is activated again randomly ....

Today I did a test on the move.
When HHT test modules BAS, ABS ESP, they apparently inactive, respectively - running error is not noticeable.
I plan to test with ESP off system - this can give an answer.
I will not give up!!!

When i turn off the ESP problem occurs again - once under the same conditions and the same.
Recorded no errors, meaning that the system work properly - which means that something improper activate it and it work properly.
What activates it is during the sensor diaphragm. It was replaced with a new one - no result.
Unfortunately, I do not own Star Diagnosis - otherwise I would not drive your car with continuous monitoring.
Now give up - again read and think ..

What exactly happens when you say the BAS activates? Do you mean the ABS, with pump noise and pulsating brake pedal?
And sorry to say that Bulgarian wine doesn't have wide distribution in the States.

BAS system detects sudden the brake pedal.
And he pressed fully.
For me to receive just that - a sharp and complete the brake pedal for a very short time.
I see him and how he sank back in an instant.
What you're describing is normal operation of the system ABS, which in this case do not comment.
Bulgarian red wine is something our country is famous around the world. There must be a way to get a few bottles to America

If I win the power ball lottery(290 millonies) Saturday I will charter a jet and meet you in Burgas or Varna------we will first drink some wine then go to the beach then we can scan the car and find out the real problem.

a 40% share of the pie. I call that false advertising.One thought on the control unit: I think it sits next to the trans control unit on the passenger side. May be worth pulling to verify it is clean and well-seated.
