E320 as a DD/beater?
I'm a BMW guy at heart but wouldn't mind diversity in cars. I was mainly looking at E36's as a beater but clean ones are few and far between in NJ. I also would love a wagon for hauling space, and this E320 popped up on CL recently. What do you guys think about it?

I'm mainly looking for a car under $4k and I see many W210's for under that price. Anything I should specifically look out for?

1998 E320 4-Matic Wagon
I bought an E320 wagon about a year and a half ago. It had 177k miles. It now has 198k. So far it has been great for me as a daily driver. It isn't without it's faults. But I do my own work. Nothing I haven't been able to handle so far. I have seen posts on here about staying away from deals like this. I am happy with mine. Good luck.

2000 E320 AWD
I have a '00 E320 4matic sedan, 99,000 miles, that's a high-dollar, high-maintenance POS. Electrical problems are over my dumb head, but I do my own chassis work. (I'm sorry i didn't get a Jetta.)
