Removing 4matic Front Brake Rotors

Anyone know what i'm going wrong? Can't get the rotor off. Of course i removed the caliper and the one 5mm hex retaining screw. Tried a hammer, then a BF hammer, then an 8-inch 3-jaw puller in tandem with BF hammer, then repeated the next day after a Kroil soak. I don't want to put heat in the area of the bearing, but if i continue with the hammer approach, something is sure to break. I can see that the axle splines are free to move in and out, but can't figure out what could be holding this female-dog. Anyone have a section skematic? Any other suggestions? Thanks.

BFH worked for me. Left some pretty big dents in the old rotors. I would also suggest hearing protection.

Thanks, 'wagon. I was afraid of brinelling the bearings if i used harder impacts. Also the rotor was developing a lot of slop after i kept hitting it, like the bearing end play was increasing. When i reassembled, it tightened up when i retorked the 27mm axle nut... Anyway, i'll try your method as a last resort.

one of mine was hard to get off. Hitting from the inside of the rotor made it come off pretty easily.
