I have a pre facelift W210 E430 1998 model. I was wondering how difficult it would be to retrofit a different steering wheel airbag. I was wanting to retrofit a multifunction steering wheel with control buttons. Does anyone have information on this retrofit such as: diagrams, instructions, pictures, parts needed, and parts numbers or know someone who might have this information? I know the airbag is different with the controls on the steering wheel. I believe the SRS ring is the same from Model years 1998-2002. I was hoping the steering wheels would be the same along with the wiring harness for Canbus. I already have a comand headunit. Thank you in advance for all of your support.

Very labor intensive,expensive and I believe that with out a dash change all the features would not be operable-----my suggestion donate or sell the car and move up to a W211!!

he can't because he likes that motor. to get same power, he'll have to pay a higher, more premium price, yes?
