1997 Mercedes E420 vibration

I have a 97 E420, when I take off, there is a vibration at 15 mph then it goes away. It happens at 15 mph regardless of how I take off, fast or slow. I'm hoping it maybe the transmission mount, but I am uncertain. If anyone has experienced this with their E420, please share.

Why speculate and you can learn much------put the car on a lift and inspect the running drive train. It's cheap!!

That inspection was done, nothing was found by an MB mechanic. The flexplates looked good, center carrier bearing looked good, just not 100% confident in his assement. .

Then just to recap, MB was not able to duplicate your complaint!

You indicate a low speed vibration----where on the car do you notice/feel this vibration!!

The vibration feel like it is through the transmission and driveline, nothing through the seat, steering wheel or anywhere else. At 15 mph it almost feels like a shutter type vibration.

More questions--has the vibration been noticed in both cold and warm weather? How old are your tires? At 10 mph you get a vibration, does the vibration stay the same while you drive at 10 mph for long distance(less than a mile)?

Tires are almost new Michelin tires, if I stay at 15 mph, the vibration does not go away, only when I exceed 15 mph does the vibration go away, it doesn't seem to vibrate at any other speed.

After all that I guess I would find a good alignment shop put the car on the lift and run the car at 15 mph---one in the drivers and one on the ground----does it vibrate and where. Good Luck!!

Diagnosing via symptom is not cheap, lots of time

Yeah, it has baffled everyone, it vibrates for a brief moment at 15 mph, then goes away. It doesn't matter if you are going straight or making a turn, same vibration occurs. Hendricks Mercedes here is Charlotte, NC have a great rep, but they could not find a problem. We tried the lift, but no vibration with the wheels off the ground.
