Transmission problem?

I am having a problem with the E430, so I figure I'll post here as some you guys know a lot about these things and might be able to help me.

Here is the best way I can describe the problem

1.There is loss of acceleration at take of from stop sign or from slow speed.
2.When increasing a speed lightly after a turn there is a jerk.
3.Car jerks once in a while between 2000 and 3500 rpm (seems like when it's switching from 1st to 2nd or 2nd to 3rd gears).
4.Once in a while there is loss of power, for instance today going around 20mph as I pressed on the gas pedal, the rpm went up from 2300 to 3000rpm, but there was a weird sound from the engine as if the transmission fell into neutral, and the car didn't gain speed, then the needle fell back to around 2300 rpm the car jerked and it started to accelerate again.
5.When I switch the car into Winter mode (by pressing that W/S button by the shift knob, which prevents the car from switching into 1st gear) the problem is still there but the car jerks less often and not as much.
6.The problem is mostly noticeable on street driving, and I haven't really noticed the problem on the highway.

Also, I had the MAF sensor replaced under warranty about a month and a half ago, but the problem didn't go away and got worse over time.

Now the car is out of warranty and I really don't want to take it back to have them tell me I have to pay for them to fix their mistakes.

Thanks guys for reading this long post, and I would really appreciate any advice.

Damn, that sucks. I hope you have a warranty...

Last year, my car decided to not move when it was in drive...or reverse...it was just stuck. I was on my last year of the warranty, thank God it was covered. But i remember the bill coming out to about 6K...forgot what the problem was, but it had something to do with the transmission.

Yeah, i know, that doesn't help you at all. Just thought i'd share.

I have an opposite problem. Transmission shifts most smoothly for city driving, however on highways it's really terrible. If I'm flooring gas, then transmission's going to neutral, RPM's going to 5000, and after 3-5 seconds downshifting. I won't buy MB anymore.

Dema,

My transmission had the same symptom as yours. In highway driving, if I floored it, the rpm goes up but the car have a few seconds delay and then speeds up. Some how this has to do with the Mass Air Sensor.......since I replaced the MAS, the symptom hasn't appeared again.

Update:

Went to the dealer today, my service advisor told me it could be a catalyc (sp?) converter. Made an appoitment but I have to wait till end of October for it, so we'll see what it is.

I actually had the Mass Air Flow Sensor replaced at my last service, however the problem didn't go away.
