Hey, New owner of 2001 E430.

Does MB sell OEM shop service manuals?
What type of oil does this car take?
How do you jack up the car? Front or rear?
Any links to websites that would describe basic procedures for changing water pump, serpentine belt, etc...

MB hasn't sold paper or CD service manual for some years now. instead, your
option is to go online and pay by subscription for access time:

here is another CD offering for about $10 but they're having manufacturing
bugs and the disks which have been sent out the past 4-6 months have not
been loading properly. I have a working copy and it is quite a fabulous gather
of tech sheets and data from MBUSA, drawn from the MB online service site.

It takes 8.5 qts of Mobil1 0W-40. I always use a genuine Mercedes filter, but I know some people on here use Mann filters

Thank you all for your input. I'd love to get my hands on some sort of service manual as I have to get the rear diff seals changed and have no idea where to start. I alway like to have torque values for all the bolts I take and with this project, it seems that I better follow instructions to the T.
