Wierd tranny shifting.
I have a 98' e320 sedan with a rebuilt tranny. I've noticed that the tranny seems to shift wierd when breaking and taking off after breaking. It is like it will clunk out of gear when i am parking the car at a very slow speed. Sometimes i will go down a steep hill without accelerating and it will stay in second for too long. The shifting can only be described as irradic at times but its usually during parking, stopping or very slow driving situations. Is this to be expected with a rebuilt tranny or should I consult the guy who rebuilt it, he gave me a six month warranty on it but there are no lights or anything to indicate a serious problem. Also i've noticed if I drive the car in "w" mode it shifts fine only "s" mode presents these issues.

I'm sure he will agree with all this he's been servicing my family Mercedes for about 20 years but I am not the most car savvy person and I wouldn't know how to read any of those tests let alone know what they are. But I am sensing from your comment that this is a serious and expensive issue?

Yea I guess I have a tendency to be hyper sensitive with cars (every little noise strikes me). I kinda wanted to see if this was a serious issue with these cars before i proceeded to my mechanic or is a little inconsistent shifting to be expected on a 98 with a rebuilt tranny and 150k miles.
