P0100 code and Humming sound
Hi all,
My 1997 E420 115000 MILES, CEL is on. In dash it says " check engine electronics", it shows P0100 on the code reader. After some reading, everyone suggested to cleaning the MAF senesor. Took the MAF sensor out and cleaned it with CRC spray. While at throtle body noticed that there is a humming sound comeing from throtle when the key is in on position. I this normal because I don't hear anything from my 2001 E430 when I compared. After cleaning MAF and check for vacume leake, check engine light comes on, on the second start with P0100 and check engine electronics in dash.
Any suggestion will be greatly appreciated.

Out Of Control!!
Does your scannar have freeze frame capabilities, if so you will be able to determine what conditions caused the fault----with that data you may have saved your self the cost of the BS spray and used the money to get a new MAF and get on with your life!!

Thanks for the quick reply Plutoe, No scaner does not have freez function and like I said with the MAF removed from the throtle, I could hear humming noise from throtle boday with key on engine off. Now that I found that noise so I want to be sure the what is the problem before I start to change parts.
