Running mic cable on single din head unit for bluetooth.
I'm planning on getting this receiver http://www.crutchfield.com/p_113KDCX...-KDC-X597.html for my 98' e320 (bose) because the stock one is starting to go and I want to upgrade. Ive never installed a unit just wondering where and how do you run the mic cable for the bluetooth. Has anyone done one of these upgrades and does it requiring taking the car apart. I can't find any mercedes install tutorials.

You might be able to use the phone's mic if your car came with factory phone.
Check out the audio/electronics forums for more info on radio upgrades.

I figured as much the whole idea of popping out all these panels on a mercedes just terrifies me for some reason. I had no problem doing this on my 98 chevy lumina however. Are there any tutorials on this stuff to set my mind at ease. I saw a few pictures of what the car looked like with everything pulled up and I had to look away.

Look up cabin filter replacement. That shows how to remove the passenger lower dash panel. Similar concept on the driver side. The side panels pop off easy. It's really not too bad, just know what panels are screwed versus popped so you don't break something. There are some creative fittings, so some common sense plus searching here and Youtube will help you figure it out.
