The only reason I asked is because if you do a transmission fluid/filter change search you will find all the wrong reasons why folks change the fluid, therefore if you are changing for a reason and a tech you should be looking at the way the factory suggests with tools and measurements-----spend the 18 bucks an get a 24hr subscription to MB startec info put your VIN and search your transmission type for the quantity, type of fluid, tools and conditions to test fluid level----then go to e.bay and purchase a measuring tool---then go to MB EPC and locate the part number for the red cap, filter and gasket and order a couple from loads of places on the net or your local dealer. They are cheap!!

The tranny is a 722.6. Searching for that term will gets you tons of help.

Break the red tab with a screw driver or pliers. It is 1 time use. Then the black plug pulls out. Replace with new tab. You can get the tabs from the dealer or parts.com. You can get the filter from parts.com or autohausaz.com.

You don't have a drain plug on the torque converter. Don't sweat it. Change the fluid, run the car for a few minutes, change the fluid again. That will get most of it flushed.

Dip stick from ebay or Ohlord on this board.

You need Mercedes approved fluid. You can normally find Fuchs at autohausaz.com. Also there is Shell ATF that is Mercedes 236.14 approved which will work and is very cheap if you can find it. This stuff is normally used in Sprinter vans and Chrysler 5 speeds with the Mercedes transmission.
