Do I need a new gear shifter?
I took the car to the mechanic the other day cuz out of nowhere it kept slipping into neurtral. I typically drive with my hand rested on the shifter so as i drove to the mechanic the problem was totally gone. He then confirmed i need a new shifter. Could anything else be the issue tho i stopped touching the shifter and the problem hasnt happened again but i hear the new shifter replacements are expensive and i really don't want to part with that much cash. Any suggestions or atleast a place where i can get a cheap replacement.

This guy is pulling your chain, a complete shifter, BS
----ask him what part or parts are bad, because most mechanical and electrical parts are replaceable. Check yourself in EPC
FYI: automotive lift= a mechanical device use to put the car above the ground!!

Oh and I know what a lift is I was saying he didn't put it on a lift he just kind of looked at it and moved it around and told me to not lean on the shifter when i drive.
